I’m Laura Porter, founding director and manager of F.A.B! We’re a beauty of a company 😉 that has grown rapidly since we opened in 2009. We help all our customers get on the F.A.B track to happiness! My values are humour, integrity and dedication. So, every single person who comes through our door is met by warm and professional staff and leaves feeling like they’ve been sprinkled with fairy dust!

Formation
When a job didn’t turn out the way I wanted, I decided to begin my career in beauty (something I always had a passion and natural talent for). I thought, why keep trying to slog it out when I could change direction and shoot for something exciting. So, I went for it and studied hard for 3 years (balancing my course with a full-time job). Even though I was at full capacity I relished every single minute which confirmed to me I was definitely in the right occupation. I don’t even see it as a job really. It feels like something I am meant to do.
Why do I love it so much? I think the most rewarding thing in the world is to make someone feel F.A.B inside and out. When a customer feels great so do I.
Over the years I have slowly built a very reputable business and name in the beauty industry. I offer a range of treatments including Lipofirm, eye treatments, specialist skin treatments, make up, tanning, waxing, body treatments, nails and pedicures and laser tattoo removal.
Now, it’s all very well telling you I’m great at what I do…what counts is what my customers think…

Let’s bring you up to speed with what’s been happening recently. As I now have a new salon with more treatment rooms I have a new team to go with it! I also publish a monthly magazine [add link to magazine] which provides advice and tips on the best ways to look after your skin. We talk about old and new treatments, what’s good and what’s not. Most importantly you will be part of this magazine, we will be interviewing our lovely clients and letting them share their experiences of the salon and our services:

Belief
I believe it is really important to give back – every good business should contribute to their community. I offer a free clinic for clients having treatment for cancer and I volunteer at Kilbryde Hospice. I also give my staff time off to volunteer. Over and above this, F.A.B fund and organise an annual fundraiser each December. All proceeds are split between Kilbryde Hospice, local children’s charities, churches and foodbanks, and the Glasgow Night Shelter.
